Through our campaign, we have organized and participated in multiple community outreach efforts to educate families and residents about how stormwater runoff carries pollution directly into our rivers and streams. We presented an in-depth and interactive watershed protection presentation to students at Rocklin Elementary School, where we explained how litter, oil, and harmful chemicals flow through storm drains and into natural waterways. Our goal was to inspire younger students to understand that small daily actions can have a big environmental impact.

To make environmental education engaging and creative, we designed and built our own educational board game that teaches players how to protect water systems. We also launched a YouTube channel called “Only Rain Down the Drain” to spread awareness through videos, environmental challenges, and informational content. In addition, we developed a Roblox video game that allows players to virtually clean polluted waterways and learn about watershed protection in an interactive way.

We are building a dedicated website and mobile app to serve as central hubs for our campaign, where community members can access educational resources, learn practical water-saving tips, and find ways to get involved. Beyond digital outreach, we have participated in hands-on cleanup efforts along the Sacramento River, removing trash and helping prevent pollution from entering the water system.

We also distributed educational brochures to the library at Winston Churchill Middle School and to the Rocklin Public Library, ensuring students and community members have access to important information about protecting our watershed.
